Documentation
This is the official documentation of the administration interface of the Boxalino Winning Interactions Platform.
The documentation is structured along the different sections of the administration menu:
Section | Sub-Sections | Description |
---|---|---|
Tutorials | In the Strategies section, the administrator can create and modify Widgets within the 24 Widget & Page Optimizers containers (WPOs). Each WPO addresses a specific aspect of the web-site (e.g.: search results (SEARCH / NAVI), product recommendations on the PDP (UP-SELL) or banner personalization (PROMOTE)). Each Widget can be connected to a specific part of a page of the web-site or as the controller of the layout of a page. The strategies define the dynamic logic used by the system to define what content should be returned in each situation. | |
Most reports are provided independently of the administration interface as described in Boxalino Standard and Specialized Reports. The Strategies section does include reporting data in several of it’s views and dialogs, but the Report sections addresses more advanced integration done in the administration interface for specific aspects. Currently, there is one case of such reports for the Search, which enables you to see the KPIs of your 1K most frequent searches and easily to view their results and tune them with Semantic Filters. | ||
Tutorials: | In the Marketing sections, the administrator can defined campaigns (which will be used potentially in many different places like to display personalized banners, to generate a campaign landing page or to defined campaign related product recommendations in the newsletter). It is also in this section that the administrator can define Narratives (Layout of static or dynamic pages) and their Layout Blocks (the Layout Blocks are the building blocks, each typically related to a template of the e-shop, which can be used to build Layouts in the Narratives Sub-Section). | |
Tutorials: | In the Merchandising sections, the administrator can configure various functionalities of the system which affects the response of the platform. While the Strategies and Marketing sections define the central logic defining this content, the Merchandising allows the adjustments of specific aspects affecting some parts of the content of some of the responses. The administrator can defined what facets (filtering options) are returned in the search and the navigation, can configure rules and Heuristics to change the response of the system in specific cases, add responses messages, define segments, or even configure the sitemap of the web-site. | |
In this section, the administrator can modify, enrich and add information to the data indexed by the system. This section is not where the Data themselves are configured (for this, please refer to the Data Integration documentation), but instead covers way the administrators can modify the data by themselves (enrich data with new attributes, defined data owners and their product attribute values, defined additional fields or label existing ones, define data correlation, etc.) | ||
Tutorials: | In this section, the administrator can test unpublished changes in the Testing view to verify that his changes function correctly and to diagnose the reason why the platforms returns specific content in different cases. The administrator can also then publish his changes after reviewing them in the Publishing view. | |
| In this section, the administrator can configured the User groups and roles who have the right to access the administration interface. | |
In this section, the administrator can configured more advanced and complex part of the system, such as the resources (HTML; CSS and JS) to be pushed to 3rd party systems (like CloudConvert to allow the generation of composite images) or the configuration of Template resources (which can also be directly defined and used in the Narrative as Dynamic Variable as described in How to dynamize Narratives with Variables) |
