Learn how to integrate a Dynamic (and personalized) Banner for your web-site (and newsletter).
First - create a banner. You can use a Banner editor like JSSOR. Unzip the files and load them to your FTP or media server. Make sure that each language of your web-site is in a separate folder (e.g.: "mybanner/fr", "mybanner/de", ...). If it is the initial setup, contact Boxalino for support. Next, create a new Campaign. Open the tab Content, in the field Material select JSSOR Banner from the options and set the name of the folder (e.g.: "mybanner") in the text field next to it.
On the tab General, check the status to be activated, and check Promoted if you want the banner to appear on your home page (if the banner is only for a special page, set Promoted to false).
If the campaign starts and finishes at a specific date, you can set the Type to "Time-based" and define the start and end date of the campaign.
Finally, define a Target so the system can learn to whom this banner should be displayed (with real-time personalization). A Target is a list of fields with Values. If you set several different fields it makes an AND condition (e.g.: color = red AND category = book). If you set several values in one field, it will do an OR (e.g.: (color = red OR blue) AND category = book).
When you have finished, click on Push Data and wait for the next full data sync to be completed so that your banner is part of the dynamic content which can be recommended.
Newsletter Recommendations
Learn how to adjust your Newsletter Product Recommendations to the topic of your Newsletter.
Before you start, if the newsletter contains a dynamic banner, please follow the 1st help case: Dynamic Banner Campaign.
1 - Check that the Target is defined to be used as filter for the products to appear. Pay attention to the AND and OR default logic (see details in the 1st help case: Dynamic Banner Campaign).
2 - Make sure to set a CUID in case you use the campaign identifier of your Newsletter System (e.g.: MailChimp). In this way, the system will make the connection between the Boxalino campaign and the CUID from your Newsletter. The parameter for Mailchimp URLs is rc_cuid=*|CAMPAIGN_UID|*.
When you have finished, Save and click on Push Data. If your campaign is using a newly added banner, wait for the next full data sync to be completed so that your banner is part of the dynamic content.
Campaign Landing Page
Learn how to create a Landing Page for your Campaign (with both banner and products).
Before you start, if your newsletter contains a dynamic banner, please follow the 1st help case: Dynamic Banner Campaign; if it is also to be used in your newsletter, follow the 2nd help case Newsletter Recommendations.
1- Check that the Target is defined. The rules in target are used as filters for the products which are to be displayed on the page. Pay attention to the AND and OR default logic (see details in the 1st help case: Dynamic Banner Campaign)
2 - Switch to Marketing > Narratives view. Create (or duplicate) a landing page narrative. For title - use same name as the campaign and set the alias if you want the SEO url to support different languages nicely. Edit the narrative content per your use-case.
Finally, make sure to push the data (in campaign view) and to publish your account (both needs to be done for the landing page to work). If your landing page contains a banner, it might also require to wait for a full data sync for the banner to appear.
