1. How to add a facet?
Would you like to set a facet (i.e.: filtering option) on your search or product listing pages?
Typically, your E-shop (Magento, Shopware, …) will defined which facets should appear. These facets do not need to be configured in our admin, so first check if you shouldn’t add it in your e-shop back-end instead.
If not, click on the Add button and a new empty row will appear at the top of the list. Then click on the pencil icon on the right of the table row to edit it.
In the first Context Tab, set at least one Widget (typically ‘search' or ‘navigation') to indicate on which pages you would like the facet to appear. Then select a field name (if you can’t find the adequate product attribute, contact your IT for help).
In the Values Tab, you can define a label for the facet. Check the "force include" box, otherwise, the facet will not appear by default. The other parameters are optional. The most important ones are the Order (smallest number first, you can set negative values to force a facet on top), the Display Type (should it appear collapsed or already expanded), The Value Order (Alphabetical, per Counter, …) and Show Counter (if you want to see the counter next to each facet value).
When you are finished, click the 'Test' Button and wait 5-10 minutes before testing in your stage web-site before publishing.
