What are Widgets? (WPO)
...
WPOs of Level 1&2 contain widgets.
Widgets are the visual building blocks of your e-shop.
...
Widgets are typically used in only one location of a page (like the home page) or a category of pages (like the product detail pages).
Each widget is defined by a strategy in Boxalino Admin which specifies how the a/b testing selection of product or other content will be done in real-time for each visitor individually.

What are Page layouts? (WPO)
WPOs of Level 3 contain Page layouts.
Unlike widgets, Page layouts, do not return one or a list of products or other contents to be displayed to the user. Page layouts provide a dynamic layout of the page (or the zones of the page where widgets should appear).
The Layout is defined as a Narrative that is connected to the Page layout (which can be defined with dynamic conditions to a/b test or segment the display of some widgets depending on the device, trafic source, customer gender or any other segmentation logic).
If a part of the layout is even more dynamic and results in a real-time strategy to create the layout, the Page layout strategy (the strategy of a Page layout is defined in the same administration environment as the Widget strategies). As an example of such an advanced case, here is a use case with Marketing Topics: Personalized Marketing Automation on Qualipet Homepage
